Information about our progress
Wednesday 5th November 2008 - Had meeting with Director of Education Outreach from BT about sponsorship.
Friday 7th November 2008 - Sponsorship approved by BT.
Friday 9th January 2009 - After a wave of ordering and delays in chassis material we are finally at the point where we
can start to build. Just have to wait for the year 11's to come back after mocks.
Tuesday 13th January 2009 - Arrangements have been made for a representative from BT to come and meet the team next Monday
and hand over the sponsorship cheque...Just in time as the bulk of our sponsorship money has already been spent!
Pause -GCSE coursework has taken over.
31st March 2009 - Finally sorting out the chassis. Decided to go for Greenpower rear chassis as we can't weld
Aluminium ourselves. At leaast we know it's strong.
4th May 2009 - Pop riveted the chassi sections together, sides done, need to sort out base.
Thursday 7th May 2009 - Tried fitting the old Kart steering column, not sure it'll work.
Wednesday 13th May 2009 - Cut up the base and slots which has re-assured us that the steering will work. Although
the slots need to be made bigger to allow us to actually turn!
Still waiting to hear from a local cycle shop about lacing in our hubs into our rear wheels, then we can get it rolling.
Thursday 18th June 2009 - Thanks Moons Cycles, they have our wheels and are sorting them out for us.
